ViewScreen

  • ViewScreen is a patented set of AR production visualization (ProVis™) tools that let filmmakers visualize and plan what they want to film, in real time, any time during the production cycle. The ViewScreen family of products include ViewScreen Studio and ViewScreen Scout Pro. The tools run on off-the-shelf consumer iOS/macOS and Windows hardware that has a small footprint, so it’s easy to use no matter where you’re filming.

  • Production visualization (ProVis), is the ability to visualize digital assets in a live scene in real time – any time during production – to make the invisible visible.

ViewScreen Studio

  • Built for full-scale film and television productions, ViewScreen Studio lets filmmakers visualize and animate an entire scene, in real time – synchronized by timecode – across multiple cameras. Use ViewScreen Studio to visualize props, characters, and environments, on set or on location. ViewScreen also enables a faster, more efficient editorial workflow for post-production.

  • ViewScreen Studio is built for full-scale productions and includes ViewScreen Scout Pro and four modules: Tracker, Compositor, Exporter, and Motion.

  • ViewScreen Scout scans an environment, analyzes the space and then places and animates digital objects in a scene – in real time and at real-world scale. Users can download their own custom 3D assets from Box or from the Files app on their device to plan and block a scene to decide if a location works, figure out the best angles for coverage, or even build new blocking and animation on the fly.

  • ViewScreen Scout Pro is a real-time scouting app for the iPhone that lets people record how digital assets will look on location or a soundstage – before filming begins. Use ViewScreen Scout Pro to pre-visualize scenes, virtually walk through sets, block movement, visualize lighting and more to see how digital assets blend with the real world. Collaborate by sharing access to the same AR space so the crew can see what’s being filmed and control or modify assets, in real time.

  • ViewScreen Scout Beta is a single-user iPhone app designed for real-time scouting. The Beta app provides individual users with the powerful production visualization tools needed to effectively scout a scene or shot – from blocking and adjusting lighting and lenses, to animating characters.

  • Yes. With ViewScreen Scout Pro, multiple users can connect in an online virtual room where they can interact with digital assets and each other in a shared AR space.

  • The LiDAR information is used to allow your assets to interact accurately with their surroundings. The scan is local to your device. Fuzzy Door Tech doesn’t have access to the LiDAR scan.

Availability

  • ViewScreen Scout Beta is currently in Beta. We don’t have specific timing to share about when the app will be available through the App Store.

  • We don’t have anything to share about future pricing. Currently ViewScreen Scout is available for free.

  • Today, ViewScreen Scout is available as a public Beta for users in North America (US and Canada), Europe (excluding Russia, Belarus), Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South Korea.

  • Yes, the ViewScreen suite of products, which includes ViewScreen Studio and ViewScreen Scout Pro, is available today for full-scale productions.

  • Yes, ViewScreen Scout Pro is included in the ViewScreen Studio and can also be purchased separately.

  • Initially, ViewScreen Studio and ViewScreen Scout Pro (stand-alone) are only available for use in North America (US and Canada). The apps are English language only.

Compatibility

  • ViewScreen Scout and ViewScreen Scout Pro don't require specialized equipment like expensive lenses or cranes to support heavy gear or motion capture equipment. ViewScreen Scout and ViewScreen Scout Pro runs on iOS devices including any iPhone Pro or iPhone Pro Max and any iPad Pro M1 and higher.

  • ViewScreen Studio (mobile apps) run on any iPhone Pro or iPhone Pro Max, and any iPad Pro M1 and higher. ViewScreen Studio (desktop apps) run on MacOS Sonoma and Windows 11 computers.
